“White Christmas is one of the world’s best-known Christmas carols.
It was composed by Irving Berlin in 1940. The original recording
by the singer and actor Bing Crosby from 1942 sold
more than 35 million copies. This makes “White Christmas” one
of the most successful singles of all time.

Heinz Briegel’s new arrangement for Concert Band captures the charm
of the original with gentle and harmonious sounds – like snow falling from
the sky, bringing us a white Christmas.

Feliz Navidad literally translates simply as ‘Merry Christmas’. José Feliciano
composed a Christmas carol with this title in 1970 – and it remains to this day
one of the best-known modern Christmas carols. It is a lively,
Latin American piece, brimming with infectious Christmas cheer.

In his arrangement for Concert Band, Heinz Briegel has preserved this joyful and
exuberant character of the music. ‘Feliz Navidad’ is a valuable addition
to the Christmas repertoire of any Concert Band from intermediate level upwards.

It’s hard to believe, but the Christmas carol
‘Winter Wonderland’ by Felix Bernard, which remains famous and popular to this day, was first published in 1934.
The lyrics were written by Richard B. Smith. The song has remained well-known over the years thanks to interpretations by many renowned artists. One of the most important versions is the recording by the legendary Andrews Sisters.

Heinz Briegel’s arrangement for wind orchestra is closely based on the original.
It is kept simple, yet skilfully orchestrated. Briegel has incorporated the jazzy elements
and harmonies into his arrangement. Transport your audience to a
pre-Christmas fantasy world – to a ‘wonderful winter wonderland’!
